Show Bio

Like most Lithuanians, I started watching basketball from the age of six. I'm based out in London and played basketball at the University of Lincoln here in the UK. I had always had an interest in the NBA but things really took off in the summer of 2010. That year Linas Kleiza led Lithuania to 3rd place at the World Championships and signed with the Toronto Raptors to replace the departing Chris Bosh. I've been a Raptors fan since that day and I've not missed a game since. I've been handicapping games for more than a decade, specializing in player props. While yesterday’s NBA playoff games provided plenty of upsets, Monday’s games see 2 series that saw both home sides come out on top in Game 1. That should put increased pressure on the visiting Brooklyn Nets and Golden State Warriors teams. A loss here would mean they need to win both of their next 2 home games to avoid being on the brink of elimination. You can watch both of todays games on TNT.

Take a look at our NBA Playoff picks. But for now check out my favorite player props below.

Domantas Sabonis over 13.5 rebounds (-106)

Domantas Sabonis loves rebounding against the Golden State Warriors. In 4 games against them this season, he has recorded totals of 14, 14, 22 and now 16 in the last outing. There is nothing to suggest there will be a major drop off tonight. He will spend the majority of his time against either Kevon Looney or Draymond Green. Neither is an effective floor spacer, allowing him to remain in and around the rim the rim throughout the night. They lack size too which has meant that the Warriors ranked 20th in opponent offensive rebounds per game. Sabonis should be able to use that to pad his rebounding numbers here. He pulled down 5 of those in Game 1 and should be able to do something similar in Game 2.

Jordon Poole over 16.5 points (-115)

The Kings were able to win the bench battle the last time out, but I expect Poole to look to change that tonight. He averaged 20.4 points per game in the regular season and I am expecting him to get closer to that number here having dropped 17 in the last outing. With the Kings finishing the season 24th in defensive rating and the Warriors leading the league in pace, this should turn out to be a high scoring game. Poole will have no shortage of opportunities. Making Malik Monk work harder on the defensive end should benefit the Warriors too. Of players who have played at least 10 games for the Kings this season, Monk ranks 10th on their roster in defensive rating. He is certainly someone Poole should be able to target. Expect the 6th man to turn that into a high scoring night.

Tyrese Maxey over 3.5 rebounds (-115)

Joel Embiid did a terrific job of boxing out in the last game, which in turn led to just 5 total offensive rebounds for the Brooklyn Nets. However, he was not chasing them down himself. With Tyrese Maxey being arguably the quickest player on the floor in this series, he was able to do that for the 76ers. Maxey ended the night with 6 rebounds. Look for him to be similarly effective grabbing them here. Overall, he has pulled down at least 4 misses in 9 of his last 10 games. With the 76ers being a top 10 team in defensive rating this season, they should be able to force enough missed shots for him to get his fair share tonight too. Back the over based on his recent form.

P.J. Tucker over 9.5 points and rebounds (+100)

P.J. Tucker combined for 13 points and rebounds for the 76ers in the first meeting between the sides. Considering he was a menace on the defensive end with 5 steals, he should see no shortage of playing time tonight. Something similar tonight could help lead to scoring opportunities in transition for the forward. He has been rebounding well lately too, managing 6 or more in 3 of his last 6 games. That type of performance here would set this line up perfectly. Do not be surprised to see Tucker’s shot volume go up throughout the series as the Nets try to get him to be the one that has to beat them. With the 76ers forward being a 39.2% shooter from deep this season, he can punish them for it. Look for that to be the case tonight.
