Kelly Oubre is a high-volume scorer that is looking to get his and only his. He’s scored over 25 points in 7 of the last 10 games played without LaMelo Ball, who is out for the season with an ankle injury. The Hornets have the 2nd-worst record in the Eastern Conference and like most seasons, have nothing to play for. With that being the case, Oubre has taken it upon himself to do the bulk of the scoring and not involve his teammates.
Ball went down in early March and the offense has flown through Terry Rozier and Oubre. Rozier is the primary playmaker for Charlotte. He’s averaging over 7 assists over his last 5 games along with 21 points. Oubre, on the other hand, hasn’t dished out more than 2 assists in a game in his last 4 games and is averaging less than 2 assist opportunities per game during that stretch. For a guy that is averaging over 25% in usage rate during this late-season push, not being able to record a handful of assists is out of this world.

Another under on a high-usage player? That’s right! Like Oubre, Mikal Bridges is in score mode. The Villanova product has scored at least 30 points in 5 of his last 10 games and continues to thrive in his role. He’s someone that NBA prop bettors have loved ever since he was traded to the Nets. His point guard, Spencer Dinwiddie, thrives at his role as well which is creating for others. His assist line is set at 9.5 on multiple books and he will be the primary facilitator tonight.
Bridges has a tough matchup with the Cleveland Cavaliers, who he just faced off against 2 days ago. He shot 9/23 from the field but only combined for 5 rebounds and assists. That made it 5 straight games to the under. Against a slow-paced Cleveland team that is returning center Jarrett Allen, I have Bridges struggling to pull down rebounds. He will most likely be guarding all-star Donovan Mitchell, who will be pulling him away from the basket.
