This ought to be a fun matchup. Both teams have welcomed new stars to their team to compete for an NBA championship. The Suns are 2-0 with Kevin Durant in the lineup, with both wins coming in blowout fashion, but they have faced teams from the bottom of the Eastern Conference. Meanwhile, the Mavericks are only 4-5 since Kyrie Irving joined Luka Doncic but are coming off an impressive win against the Philadelphia 76ers. All eyes will be on the superstars, but Devin Booker looks to be flying under the radar and is the best NBA player prop for this matchup.
Booker has welcomed Durant to the team with open arms and has seen his scoring take off even more. Booker scored 37 and 35 points in the games he’s played with Durant while shooting 54% from the field. To no surprise, the Mavericks’ backcourt defense with Doncic and Irving is pitiful. James Harden and Tyrese Maxey of the 76ers combined for 56 points on an efficient 20/33 from the field. During this stretch with Irving, the Mavericks rank in the bottom 10 in defensive efficiency and points allowed.
Booker still has a bad taste in his mouth over the way the Mavericks embarrassed the Suns in the postseason to end their season. Now fully healthy and seeing 35+ minutes per contest, expect Booker to lead the Suns to victory even with Durant in the lineup.

Jaylen Brown over 24.5 points (-125)

Here we are attacking another superstar who is the second option on his team. Jaylen Brown has been nothing short of impressive this season. The All-Star is looking to help the Boston Celtics jump to the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference. Brown is averaging 26.5 points this season and has scored at least 30 points in half the games he’s played in since the All-Star break. Like Durant, all eyes will be on Jayson Tatum who struggled against the New York Knicks in his last matchup. These teams battled it out a week ago which resulted in a Knicks win but Brown did not suit up due to a personal matter.
Even with the Knicks on an 8-game winning streak, they are fresh off allowing the Miami Heat duo of Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro to combine for 62 points and 6 three-pointers. Jimmy Butler lived at the line as he shot 18-20 from the free-throw stripe. The Celtics will be without Robert Williams III for this game, so expect the Knicks to go to a small-ball lineup that features rim protector Mithcell Robinson on the bench. This will clear the way for Brown to continue his aggressiveness and get the Celtics back to winning ways after blowing a 25-point lead to the Brooklyn Nets on Friday.
