Monday Night Football and a full 15-game NBA slate in one night is always exciting. Lines are late to trickle in due to injury reports, but I managed to find a few spots I feel really good about in the earlier games on the professional hardwood. Let’s take a look below at my favorite NBA player props of the night.

Josh Giddey over 1.5 made threes (+154)

Line available at FanDuel Sportsbook at the time of publishing.

Josh Giddey has hit this in 4 of 6 games this season and in 2 straight. He gets the Detroit Pistons tonight, who are giving up the most 3-pointers to opposing point guards in the NBA (4 per game). It’s a value play at plus-money odds, but the books have not adjusted to Giddey’s newly found efficiency for the deep ball. I made this point clear in one of my first articles for the season that Giddey spent the entire offseason with the best shooting coach in the league to improve his 3-point shooting. Through his first 6 games, he’s shooting .348 from deep vs 0.263 last year. This is a 0.5U play from me.

Cade Cunningham over 5.5 rebounds (-128)

Line available at FanDuel Sportsbook at the time of publishing.

We’re staying in the same game, which isn’t something I normally do, but I love this matchup for Cade Cunningham. The Thunder are allowing the 6th-most rebounds per game to opposing point guards and we’re getting this at Cade’s season average of 6.3 RPG. The Thunder are 7th overall in pace and 28th in true shooting percentage, so I’m expecting Cade to get more than his normal 10 rebounding opportunities a game. In his one full game against the Thunder last season, Cunningham put up 11 rebounds. This is a 1U play from me.

Gary Trent Jr. Over 17.5 Points (-105)

Line available at DraftKings Sportsbook at the time of publishing.

With Pascal Siakam out of the lineup, the rest of Raptors team needs to step up in his place. Last night’s game vs the Bulls had Scottie Barnes, FVL, and OH Anunoby all shoulder the burden in the scoring column. Those 3 players accounted for 62% of the teams points and they all shot 40% or better from the floor. Tonight, I’m banking on Gary Trent Jr. to increase his shot attempts from the 11 we saw last night. Trent Jr. is averaging 18PPG but has proven to be a better scorer the 2nd night of a back-to-back. In 2021, Trent averaged 20.5PPG and 41% shooting both in FG and 3PA on back to backs. I’m expecting him to increase his volume tonight and hit that 20-point threshold. He hit this number in 2/3 games last season vs the Bulls, including one game for 32 points. 0.5U from me.
