Show Bio

Like most Lithuanians, I started watching basketball from the age of six. I'm based out in London and played basketball at the University of Lincoln here in the UK. I had always had an interest in the NBA but things really took off in the summer of 2010. That year Linas Kleiza led Lithuania to 3rd place at the World Championships and signed with the Toronto Raptors to replace the departing Chris Bosh. I've been a Raptors fan since that day and I've not missed a game since. I've been handicapping games for more than a decade, specializing in player props. The NBA brings an 8-game slate to us on Wednesday night that includes a double-header on ESPN. The first game will see former MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks travel to take on Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks. Their clash will be followed by reigning MVP Nikola Jokic as he welcomes the Phoenix Suns to Denver. The Nuggets need to win in order to keep hold of the top spot in the Western Conference. Be sure to read our NBA predictions for each of tonight’s games, but for now, let’s dive into my best NBA player prop picks.

Jonas Valanciunas over 27.5 points + rebounds (-104)

With Zion Williamson remaining out for the New Orleans Pelicans, Jonas Valanciunas continues to step up in his absence. He has hit the over on this line in 3 of the last 4 games without Williamson. That includes at least 25 points and 10 rebounds in his last 2 outings. He should be able to maintain that tonight against a Celtics team that he managed a 22-point and 12-rebound performance against last season. The Celtics have retained the same frontline, with the Lithuanian having a size advantage over both Al Horford and Robert Williams III. The sides 5th and 7th respectively in defensive rating this season. That means there should be plenty of boards to chase down. Expect great numbers from the center here.

Harrison Barnes over 15.5 points (-118)

Harrison Barnes has gotten off to a very hot start in 2023 for the Sacramento Kings. He has been averaging 21 points per game in January, having hit at least 16-points in each of the 5 games. He has been helped by his incredible efficiency. Barnes has been making 48.6% of his 3-pointers and 88% of his free throw attempts in those games. The Kings forward will be up against a Rockets squad that has been 25th in defensive rating over the last 10 games. They also rank 24th in opponent free throw attempts during that time. Barnes should be too big and too strong for Jalen Green tonight and should have success getting to the line here. If he does that and stays as efficient from the field, he should continue his current streak.

Myles Turner over 1.5 made threes (+165)

Myles Turner will be facing off against one of the best rim protectors in the league tonight as he takes on Mitchell Robinson. It will be their 2nd meeting this season and if the first is anything to go by, Turner is unlikely to engage him in the paint. 8 of the 10 shots the Pacers center attempted in that game came from beyond the arc. The 8 attempts came 1 shy of his season high of 9 against Rudy Gobert and the Minnesota Timberwolves. He was able to knock 2 of them down against the Knicks. Do not be surprised if he hits the over more comfortably tonight. After all, he is making 37.9% of his 3-pointers this season. Back the over as a result.
