Like most Lithuanians, I started watching basketball from the age of six. I'm based out in London and played basketball at the University of Lincoln here in the UK. I had always had an interest in the NBA but things really took off in the summer of 2010. That year Linas Kleiza led Lithuania to 3rd place at the World Championships and signed with the Toronto Raptors to replace the departing Chris Bosh. I've been a Raptors fan since that day and I've not missed a game since. I've been handicapping games for more than a decade, specializing in player props. The NBA looks to ease us into 2023 with a 3-game slate tonight. However, with the the conference leaders playing against each other we should be in for a exciting night of basketball. Outside of their matchup, only the Washington Wizards do not occupy a top 5 spot in their conference from those teams in action. Look for high level of play all around as a result.

You can find our full NBA predictions here. But for now check out my favorite player prop from each of tonight’s games.

Nikola Jokic Over 25.5 points (-104)

When these sides met earlier in the season, the current MVP Nikola Jokic was able to drop 29 points on his opponents. While the Nuggets were blown out in the end, Jokic was still 2nd in the game in terms of field goal attempts. Look for him to remain equally aggressive here. With Defensive Player of the Year Marcus Smart in the backcourt, and great wing defenders in Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown on the court, Jokic will have the most favorable matchup when on offense. He will be up against Al Horford who lacks the size to impact the Serbians jump shot. Robert Williams III will see time against him too but lacks the bulk to keep him out of the post. Expect Jokic to be aggressively looking to score tonight as a result.

De’Aaron Fox Over 24.5 points (-104)

De’Aaron Fox has bounced back from a slow start in December to finish the month strong. He recorded 25 or more points in 5 of his last 8 games, coming just a point shy in 2 other outings. Fox will have a great chance to get off to a fast start against the Memphis Grizzlies here. He has played them twice this season already, with points totals of 27 and 32 points in those efforts. The Grizzlies were also in action last night, meaning fatigue will be a factor. That is something that should suit a player that plays as well in transition as the Kings point guard. Look for him to consistently beat Steven Adams down the floor tonight, getting easier looks in the paint as a result.

Brook Lopez Over 20.5 points + rebounds (-102)

The Washington Wizards should have issues dealing with the size of the Milwaukee Bucks and Brook Lopez should be one of those to benefit. He is averaging 14.3 points and 5.7 rebounds over the last week but should improve of those numbers tonight. With Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton unavailable, he should be the second option on offense for the Bucks here. He will be matched up against either Kristaps Porzingis and Daniel Gafford. Lopez should have success backing down and scoring against both in the post. Being up against Gafford should also allow him to remain in the paint defensively, getting great rebounding position throughout the night as the Wizards center cannot space the floor. Back the over on this one.
