The soccer World Cup starts today, but we still have some action going on in the NBA this Sunday. A total of 16 teams will be hitting the hardwood across the Association, and I’ve done a deep analysis and came up with a couple of NBA player prop bets worth your attention.
Be sure to check our NBA Picks for predictions on all 8 games, but let’s look at my favorite player prop bets for Sunday.
Devin Booker to score 30+ points (-110)
Devin Booker is coming off a 49-point explosion against the Utah Jazz, but his team still lost by 1 point on the road. Now he heads back home to face the Knicks, a team he averages 28 points per gam against in 13 career meetings. Over the last 7 meetings he’s netted at least 30 points 5 times. His scoring is a bit down in November compared to last month, but nevertheless he will be motivated to get his team back to winning ways. The absence of Chris Paul has certainly had a negative impact on the Suns’ offense, however Booker is a player who can create his own shot so I don’t think that will affect him too much.
New York is fairly mediocre on defense this season ranking just 22nd in defensive rating. Teams are making 35.4% of their 3-point attempts against them and they’ve struggled against opposing guards a number of times already. Last Sunday they got destroyed by the Oklahoma City Thunder, who scored 145 points on them. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had his way scoring 37, and I’m sure Booker can get to at least 30 today, the Suns will certainly need him to step up.
Sunday’s NBA mega parlay has +645 odds!
Kevin Huerter over 2.5 made threes (-136)
Speaking of stepping up, Kevin Huerter has done just that for the Sacramento Kings this season. He is 3rd on the team in points per game and also the team’s most lethal shooter from 3-point land with 3.6 threes made per game. His field goal and 3-point percentages aren’t going down, he’s at 49.7% from the field and 51% from downtown, which is just absurd for a guard. He had a streak of 3 games in a row with 3 threes made snapped in the win over San Antonio on Thursday, but in 8 games played in November he’s cleared this line 6 times, so I’m confident he can bounce back.
Detroit is ranked 14th in the NBA in opponent 3-pointers attempted per game, allowing 34.2 shots a night, so the Kings and Huerter should get plenty of opportunities to score from distance. With 128, 115, 117, 121 and 128 points allowed in 5 of their last 6 losses, I just don’t see how the Pistons contain him in tonight’s game.
