Ja Morant to record 8+ assists (-195)
Ja Morant’s scoring might be off a little over his last 4 games, but his assist numbers have been fairly consistent this month as he averages 7 dimes per game. That’s slightly down from the 9 per game he was averaging in December, but he’s been able to clear this line 3 times in his last 4 games. He’s played the Phoenix Suns 3 times already this season and has averaged 8 assists in those games, and with the likes of Chris Paul, Devin Booker, Cam Payne and Cam Johnson all out of the lineup, the Suns should be a step slow defensively.
Phoenix has slipped when it comes to disrupting the opponent’s ball movement lately, allowing 26 assists per game over the last 3 outings. With 2 of the teams’ 3 meetings this season going over 230 points, I think we’re bound for yet another high-paced game and if that’s the case Morant will have plenty of opportunities to collect assists.
Sunday’s NBA mega parlay has +975 odds!
Jordan Poole over 2.5 made threes (-148)
Jordan Poole has been consistently knocking down the three-ball for a solid two months now, averaging 3.1 makes in both December and in January. He’s making the most out of his opportunities lately, especially during the time Stephen Curry was out with his shoulder injury. In 2 of his last 3 appearances he had great scoring games with 32 points in wins over Washington and Cleveland, while connecting on 5 and 7 threes in those games.
He didn’t have the best of games against the Nets in the first meeting of the season, scoring just 13 points, but that should change tonight. Brooklyn isn’t really elite when it comes to defending the three-ball, as the Nets have allowed an average of 36.4% of made threes this season, which ranks them only 20th in the NBA. Poole, Curry and Klay Thompson should have a field day scoring from beyond the arc.
Damian Lillard to score 30+ points (-170)
Damian Lillard has been scorching hot lately, averaging 32.4 points per game over his last 10 outings while shooting over 47% from the field and 33% from 3-point land. He’s averaging close to 30 points per game at Moda Center this season, converting on almost 36% of his threes, which is really good for a volume shooter like him.
He’s successfully cleared this line in 6 of his last 7 games. Playing one of the fastest teams in the NBA this season will surely have a positive impact on his numbers. The Lakers don’t really have anyone on their roster who can stay in front of Lillard (I am aware Patrick Beverley is on the team). In the lone game against the Lakers this season he had 41 points, carrying the Blazers to a road victory at Crypto.com Arena. In 6 of his last 8 games he’s scored at least 30 points against them.
