The Bucks have been extremely cautious with Khris Middleton this season. He’s played in 30 games this season and only started in 16 of them. But, they’ve ramped up his minutes as of late. In the last 10 games, he’s averaging over 30 minutes and has scored at least 19 points in 6 of those games. In his last game, teammate Giannis Antetokounmpo was held out with a knee injury and Middleton showed that he’s still capable of scoring in a hurry. He scored 34 points and shot a remarkable 14 for 18 from the field. The Bucks are back to full strength, and this is an opportunity to cease the number 1 seed in the Eastern Conference.
Head coach Mike Budenholzer does a phenomenal job with his rotation. He’ll split up Antetokounmpo and Middleton at times so Middleton can create on his own. Middleton has attempted at least 15 field goal attempts in 3 of the last 5 games with Antetokounmpo with much coming from Jrue Holiday or Antetokounmpo creating. Boston will have their hands full dealing with the 2-time MVP bulldozing others into the paint. He had 9 assists against Boston with Middleton coming off the bench, only playing 25 minutes, but scoring 16 points.
With a full workload, Middleton will be able to crush this number. In what should be a close battle, Middleton will play upwards of 30 minutes where he is over this line in 6 of 7 games. Expect a Boston game plan that features containing Giannis Antetokounmpo from touching the paint and opening up Middleton to create.
