The NBA conference finals have not been as competitive as many would have predicted. After the Denver Nuggets took a 3-0 lead against the Los Angeles Lakers last night, the Miami Heat will be hoping to do the same against the Celtics tonight. Unlike the Nuggets, the Heat will have home-court advantage having already done the hard work on the road. The Celtics, on the other hand, will be fighting for their playoff lives.

Celtics vs Heat first basket best bet: Jayson Tatum (+430)
Bam Adebayo has now jumped against Robert Williams III 3 times this season and the Celtics’ big man was able to gain the first possession for his team twice. In the other, he got called for a jump-ball violation. Considering that Adebayo is yet to cleanly win his team the opening ball against Williams this season, I am expecting the Celtics to have the ball in their hands first. With the visitors up against it tonight, look for them to turn to Jayson Tatum from the get-go.
Tatum has been one of the few bright sparks for the Celtics in the first 2 games. He scored at least 30 points in each contest while making 51.4% of his field-goal attempts. He is accustomed to opening the scoring too. This season no Celtics or Heat player has scored the game’s opening basket on more occasions. I expect the Celtics to make adjustments and they should be looking to isolate Kevin Love and attack him. On current form, Tatum seems like the most likely to do that and I’m backing him to open the scoring.
