Thunder vs Cavaliers Pickswise Expert Predictions
The Oklahoma City Thunder and Cleveland Cavaliers are playing in what promises to be one of the best matchups of the year thus far. Both teams sit atop their respective conferences and enter this game with perfect records against the opposing conference (Thunder: 11-0 vs East, Cavaliers: 10-0 vs West). Tonight will feature elite offenses and two of the NBA’s top defenses. The Thunder are in the midst of an impressive Eastern Conference gauntlet, having already taken down the Knicks (East 3rd seed) and Celtics (East 2nd seed). Riding a 10-game winning streak, OKC is led by MVP frontrunner Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who is averaging 31.3 PPG. He’s backed by a strong supporting cast, including Jalen Williams (20.6 PPG). OKC ranks first in defensive efficiency, forcing the most turnovers and steals in the league.
Cleveland boasts the NBA’s top-rated offense, leading in FG% (50.4), 3P% (40.4), and second-highest in assist ratio. Donovan Mitchell (23.3 PPG) and Darius Garland (20.5 PPG) headline a balanced roster with contributions from Evan Mobley, Jarrett Allen, and Caris LeVert. The Cavs are averaging an explosive 129.7 points per game against the West this season. While both defenses are elite, the offenses are too potent to ignore. OKC and Cleveland rank 8th and 6th in pace, respectively. With OKC averaging 218 points per game in their last 5 games and Cleveland at 240 points per game, I expect plenty of scoring in this one. Plus, this is a prime buy-low spot for a high-scoring affair after unders came out hot out of the gate this week.
