Pelicans vs 76ers Pickswise Expert Predictions
The New Orleans Pelicans continue to sit at the bottom of the Western Conference standings, but there could be hope around the corner, with the return of Zion Williamson. The star forward will be making his second appearance in 2025 tonight as the team visits the Philadelphia 76ers. He managed 22 points in his first game and should be able to build on that tonight as he takes on an undersized home team. The 76ers will be without Joel Embiid and Andre Drummond, with both centers sidelined due to injury. It will mean Guerschon Yabusele will start at center, which should really impact the rim protection the Sixers can have on the court.
Philly owns a winning record with Embiid on the court this season, but without him it is just 8-14. Th Sixers may find it hard to improve on that tonight. The offense will be in the hands of Tyrese Maxey, who has had some issues of late — scoring fewer than 20 points in 2 of his last 4 games. With Dejounte Murray — a very capable perimeter defender — matching up against him tonight, he could have issues bouncing back. Paul George should be coming back from a groin injury, but before missing a game he had failed to crack the 20-point mark in 3 straight contests. The 76ers could really lack a scoring punch, so let’s take the points on a Pelicans team rejuvenated by Williamson’s return.
Pelicans vs 76ers prediction: New Orleans +5 (-110) available at time of publishing. Playable to +4.
