The Memphis Grizzlies look to end a 4-game road trip on a high as they once again take on the San Antonio Spurs. Ja Morant had an epic dunk over Victor Wembanyama that didn’t count, but more importantly he also had a 20 & 10 game, which allowed the Grizzlies to overturn a 12-point deficit in the 14-point win on Wednesday. Winning the rebounding battle was one of the keys in that game, particularly on the offensive end — where the Grizz recorded 14 rebounds. Santi Aldama provided a spark off the bench with 20 and 10; it was just an all-around team effort as every Grizzly who touched the floor scored at least 1 field goal.

You won’t see the Spurs losing many games in which they connect on 16 triples, but that’s exactly what happened on Wednesday. Although he had 8 blocks, Victor Wembanyama had a game to forget for the most part; he went just 5-for-19 from the field and scored 13 points. When your entire hopes of winning lie in the hands of just one player and he fails to perform, it is hard to win games. San Antonio is now just 1-4 ATS/SU in their last 5, ranking only 18th in defensive rating during that stretch. The Spurs are struggling to keep team off the glass, ranking just 27th in rebounding percentage during this poor run of form.

Memphis has thoroughly dominated this matchup, winning 15 of 16 meetings. The Grizz have also won 10 straight at San Antonio, so it would take a major collapse on their side not to get the win again on Friday. I’ll be sticking with the trends and backing the Grizzlies to win and to cover.
