Clippers vs 76ers Pickswise Expert Predictions

Los Angeles Clippers
Game Totals Pick
Under 210.5(-110)

The Los Angeles Clippers begin a 4-game east coast road trip on Sunday, starting in Philadelphia and eventually wrapping up in Minnesota next Friday. Entering the road trip, the Clippers are riding a 4-game win streak in what’s been a season of streaks, including a pair of 4-game winning streaks and a pair of 3-game losing skids. Ultimately, the Clippers have won more than they’ve lost and sit at 10-7, which is a good sign for a team that has been without Kawhi Leonard for the entirety of the season thus far. Recent reports have confirmed that Leonard will not travel on this road trip, sidelining him for the remainder of November. The Clippers have been led by Norman Powell, who is averaging a career-high 23.3 ppg, and James Harden, who is averaging 20.4 ppg to go along with 7.6 rebounds and 8.8 assists.

Meanwhile, the Philadelphia 76ers have not been able to overcome a barrage of injuries to their star players. Through 15 games, the 76ers are 3-12 and Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid, and Paul George have seldom seen the court. Maxey has played in 9 games, George in 8, and Embiid has suited up just 4 times this season. While Maxey is available for tonight’s contest, George and Embiid are both out with left knee injuries. Perhaps the lone bright spot for the Sixers has been the play of rookie Jared McCain, who has averaged 26.1 points across his last 7 games. The Clippers are favored by 2 points tonight, and although I like the Clippers in this game, the game total is the market I’m going after.

The Clippers have been streaky this season without Leonard and the Sixers have been unable to get a consistent lineup on the court with their stars routinely out with injuries, however, there has been one constant with both of these teams and it’s been their profitability on the under. Los Angeles and Philadelphia are a combined 19-12-1 on the under this season, and over the last 10 games they are a combined 14-5-1. These teams have largely struggled to find offensive production and both rank 24th or worse in offensive rating, while the Clippers are a top-5 team in defensive rating. The Sixers are averaging just a hair over 100 points across their last 6 games, some of which they had George and Embiid on the court, while the Clippers held their last 4 opponents to 105 points or less. It appears likely that at least one of these teams could struggle to find 100 points in this game so I’ll back what’s been profitable and play the under at its current number.

Los Angeles Clippers vs Philadelphia 76ers Prediction: Under 210.5 (-110) available at time of publishing. Playable at that number.
