Golden State Warriors vs San Antonio Spurs Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 11/23/24

The Golden State Warriors will play their second game of a back-to-back this Saturday when they travel to San Antonio to take on the Spurs. Golden State won last night 112-108 against an injured Pelicans team. Andrew Wiggins had his highest scoring output of the season, leading the Warriors with 30 points in the victory. The Spurs have also won 2 games in a row. Their last win was 126-118 against the Utah Jazz.  Harrison Barnes led the way in scoring with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Barnes was 1 of 8 Spurs’ players with double digit points. The Spurs have been great at home this season with a 7-3 record in San Antonio, but they will need to overcome the Warriors who have been great when playing on the road. The Warriors are 7-2 when traveling outside of San Francisco.

Both the Warriors and the Spurs have found success this season through their depth. Warriors’ head coach Steve Kerr’s strategy this season to keep his stars fresh is to play 10 to 11 players a game for at least 10 minutes. Steve Kerr has mentioned this is the deepest team he has ever coached, and based on their 12-3 record, it looks like Kerr’s strategy is paying off. The Spurs have not lost their rhythm in the last 3 games they have played without Victor Wembanyama and Devin Vassell. Head coach Greg Popovich has helped this team learn to play with a ‘next man up’ mentality and it has helped the Spurs win 2 of 3 with their stars recovering from injury. Expect to see a lot of players suit up and get minutes on both teams tonight. With both teams preaching depth, I’ll lean on the stars and leaders for a side. Stephen Curry has looked like a younger version of himself this season and is leading the Warriors as one of the top teams in the Western Conference. Wembanyama and Vassell are still listed as questionable for tonight’s game. I like the Warriors chances whether Wembanyama and Vassell play or not.
