Nuggets vs Nets Pickswise Expert Predictions

Denver Nuggets
Point Spread Pick
DEN Nuggets -4.5(-110)

The Denver Nuggets finally managed to pick up their first win of the season in an overtime win over the Toronto Raptors. They will have a chance to build on that performance as they travel to take on the Brooklyn Nets. The hosts will be without the services of Ben Simmons tonight who will be kept out to help manage his lower back injury. It should mean that Nic Claxton gets the start and will be tasked with picking up reigning MVP Nikola Jokic. The Serbian will have a huge weight advantage in the paint and should be expected to dominate the interior. He is coming into this after 2 straight games of 40 or more points. Do not expect a drop off in performance from him here.

One of the players the Nets have been expecting a lot from this season is Cameron Johnson. Unfortunately for them, he is off to a slow start, making just 38.2% of his field goal attempts this season. Without their leading wing defender in Simmons, the hosts could struggle to win the scoring battle on the wing. The Nuggets have their strongest defenders this season in the backcourt, with Christian Braun and Jamal Murray leading the starting 5 in defensive rating. They should be well positioned to slow down Dennis Schroder and Cam Thomas. This is a good opportunity to buy low on the Nuggets. Back them to cover the spread.

Nuggets -4.5 available at time of publishing. Playable to Nuggets -5.5.

Like most Lithuanians, I started watching basketball from the age of six. I'm based out in London and played basketball at the University of Lincoln here in the UK. I had always had an interest in the NBA but things really took off in the summer of 2010. That year Linas Kleiza led Lithuania to 3rd place at the World Championships and signed with the Toronto Raptors to replace the departing Chris Bosh. I've been a Raptors fan since that day and I've not missed a game since. I've been handicapping games for more than a decade, specializing in player props.
