Dallas Mavericks vs Los Angeles Clippers Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 04/05/25

It’s the 2nd leg of a baseball series between the Mavs and Clippers on Saturday night. The Mavs got beat pretty badly on Friday as they lost 114-91. Anthony Davis sat the game due to his persisting groin injury, but there is optimism he could return here. If that’s the case then we could have a completely different game here. Without a threat from their front line the Mavericks got absolutely crushed in Friday’s game, they were down by as many as 35 points early in the game. The three-point shooting was also a disaster at just 4-for-20 shooting, it won’t be easy going up against this Clippers defense for the 2nd night in a row.

Defense appears to be the deciding factor whenever these two teams meet. Each win in the 3 meetings this season has seen the losing team fail to crack 100 points. As we get closer to the postseason this Clippers defense has just been on another level. They’re allowing just 105.6 points per 100 possessions over their last 10 outings, it’s no wonder why they are campaigning for Ivica Zubac to get recognition for Defensive Player of the Year. If AD plays that’ll be a huge test for Big Zu, but he has been able to hold him to a modest 20.6 points over the past 5 meetings. The Clippers are a consistent 10-1 SU in 11 home games, plus they’ve also gone 5-1 ATS/SU in their last 6 games overall.

LA needs to continue winning to keep pressure on the Timberwolves for that 6th seed in order to avoid the play-in tournament. They controlled the tempo from the start and never looked in doubt on Friday. Sometimes the losing team will respond in these back-to-back scenarios, but the way the Mavs have been playing lately I just don’t see it. Give me the Clippers once again.
