Dallas Mavericks vs Atlanta Hawks Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 11/25/24
Mavericks vs Hawks Pickswise Expert Predictions
Luka Doncic’s injury has had quite the impact on the line of this game – the Mavs opened as 4.5-point favorites, but now they’re 2.5-point underdogs. This will also be the 2nd night of a back-to-back for Dallas. The Mavs just lost a tough one on the road in Miami 123-118 in OT where they seemed to run out of gas down the stretch and after playing an extra period we could very well see them rest a few notable players in tonight’s game.
Meanwhile, the Hawks return home from a miserable 1-3 road trip where they’ve allowed 136 and 120 points in their last 2 games. They are a much better home team, so this looks a good opportunity for them to get back in the win column following a string of poor results. I’m looking at Trae Young in particular to have a good game here, as he always gets extra motivated against the team that traded him away in the 2018 NBA Draft. He’s had 30 and 24-point double-doubles in the last 2 meetings with Dallas, and with the Mavs playing their 2nd game in 2 days I expect the Hawks to take full advantage.
Atlanta has won 9 of 11 meetings at State Farm Arena. They also have the edge overall in the last 20 meetings, winning 13 of them. With the Mavericks winning just 3 of 8 road games and still playing without Doncic, I believe the best approach here is to back Atlanta on the money line.
