The New York Yankees take on the Toronto Blue Jays in Game 2 of a doubleheader after Saturday’s contest was postponed. Chris Bassitt (1.88 ERA, 1.15 WHIP) takes the bump for the visitors fresh off his worst outing of the season, giving up 4 ER and 7 hits in 5.1 innings of work. He faces a tough matchup considering New York has been one of the best offenses in baseball against right-handed pitching, ranking 2nd in wRC+ (125) and 7th in BA (.252). 

While the Toronto offense hasn’t been posting eye-popping numbers as of late, New York starter Clarke Schmidt (7.45 ERA, 1.66 WHIP) has had a shaky start to the year allowing 8 ER in just 9.2 innings of work. The righty has been a wildcard thus far and could be the matchup Toronto’s bats need to get back on track. With all things considered, I’ll take the over in Game 2 of Sunday’s doubleheader.
