Auburn Tigers vs Missouri Tigers Prediction, Odds and Picks for Tomorrow, 10/19/24

We have a Tigers vs Tigers matchup on our hands as the struggling Auburn Tigers take on the Missouri Tigers, who have yet to prove themselves as a top-20 team. Auburn has faced a much tougher schedule up to this point in the season, but regardless of the opponent, turnovers have been a consistent problem. Auburn ranks 128th in FBS with 15 turnovers lost this season and the defense hasn’t been much help to make up for it. Auburn ranks 89th in EPA/rush, 95th in EPA/dropback and 75th in net points per drive on defense. Missouri has been slightly disappointing this year and that Texas A&M was a complete dud, but the passing game has the potential to be explosive and should be able to find big plays against a suspect Auburn secondary.

Missouri ranks top 39 in both EPA/rush and EPA/dropback and I expect Auburn to have to lean on the passing game in order to keep up. Missouri’s secondary isn’t necessarily world-class, but statistically it has been much stronger than the opposition and shouldn’t have too much trouble against a Payton Thorne-led offense. Furthermore, Missouri returns home for the first time in 3 weeks and I expect it to be up for a home SEC matchup against desperation-mode Auburn. With all things considered, I’ll take Missouri to cover.
