Tennessee Volunteers vs Kentucky Wildcats Prediction, Odds and Picks for Tuesday, 02/11/25

We have a terrific slate of games on Tuesday, and maybe my favorite betting opportunity on the card is the rematch between the Tennessee Volunteers and Kentucky Wildcats. These teams faced off only a couple of short weeks ago in Knoxville, and the Wildcats pulled off a huge surprise win, 78-73. What made it such a surprise was that Kentucky was missing multiple key players with injury, and the Vols were favored by double digits. The Cats will once again be missing key players on Tuesday when the game shifts to Rupp Arena, but the line has narrowed considerably. The Cats briefly opened as 1-point favorites, but bettors have quickly splashed this line and moved it to Tennessee -2. Personally, I think that still gives us room to profit, and my Tennessee vs Kentucky pick is the Vols -2.

I think the first win by Kentucky was a fluke. Tennessee had a dreadful shooting day (which Rick Barnes teams are totally prone to doing from time to time, granted), but Kentucky doesn’t exactly force opponents into bad shooting days often. The rebounding battle was dead even (and the Vols should, in theory, win on the glass), and Tennessee had one of its poorer defensive outings. I think those things will self-correct in the rematch. Since beginning SEC play, the Wildcats are a mediocre 5-5, and they have come back to earth after their surprising hot start to the Mark Pope era. I think we are getting a short number because of the Kentucky win two weeks ago coupled with the shift to Rupp Arena, but I am more than happy to take the discount with what should be the far better team. Right now you can hammer the straight Money Line, as I did, or take the Vols to cover the slim couple of points. I think you can safely play it up to at least 3 or 4 points in this case. Give me the Vols.
