Indiana is the recommended side in this matchup, as the Hoosiers should be able to control the paint in this first-round game in the Battle 4 Atlantis. Indiana has one of the lowest three-point attempt rates in the country, ranking 346th according to KenPom. The Hoosiers prefer to do their damage in the paint and that is where Louisville can be exploited. In their game against Tennessee, the Cardinals allowed the Vols to shoot 15/22 at the rim en route to a 20-point win for Tennessee. Indiana will look to have similar success in that regard.

On the other end, Indiana ranks 38th in field goal percentage defense on “Close Twos,” per BartTorvik, so Louisville will likely be forced to make jump shots in order to score efficiently. So far this season, the Cardinals have struggled mightily from beyond the arc, as they have hit less than 30 percent of their three-point attempts. Perhaps this is the game where they start to hit some, but if not, Indiana should be able to get the win and cover the short spread.
