Both teams come into the game at 13-2, and both are riding long winning streaks. After a pair of November losses, the Tide is rolling with 7 straight wins, most recently dusting both Oklahoma and South Carolina to begin conference play. The Aggies have reeled off 9 in a row, beating Texas and narrowly beating a good Oklahoma team on the road. Whenever Alabama and their go-fast offense is involved, there is always a chance of a blowout, but I think this Aggie team is built to counter Alabama’s style, and home court is just so, so important in the SEC this season. If you are giving me points with the home team, I am probably taking it. My pick is Texas A&M +3.5.

If Alabama forces the pace in this game, they will win comfortably. The Aggies, by contrast, are a slow, efficient, bruising team. They play at a very slow tempo, they lead the nation in rebounding, and they make you feel them on every possession. If they can turn this game into a trench fight, the Aggies will win. The key to this game, I think, will be whether the Aggies can avoid live-ball turnovers that turn into run-out points for the Tide. Playing at home with great crowd energy might be enough to propel the Aggies in this spot. I am not betting against SEC teams at home if I can avoid it, and especially not when they are a top 10 team on a 9-game winning streak and undefeated at home. Give me the Aggies to at least cover.
