Drake Bulldogs vs Texas Tech Red Raiders Prediction, Odds and Picks for Tomorrow, 03/22/25

Drake took down No. 6 Missouri on Thursday, shooting 54.3% from the field.  On Saturday, they Bulldogs will be looking to pull off another upset as they look to take down No. 3 Texas Tech.  Bennett Stirtz led the Bulldogs with 21 points, and they got some much needed help from Tavion Banks who scored 15 points off the bench.  Texas Tech was able to squeeze by UNC Wilmington, but struggled from the field shooting only 39.1%.  Kerwin Walton led this Red Raiders team with 27 points, and if the Red Raiders want to march on to the Sweet 16, they’ll need JT Toppin and the rest of this offense to get going against a tough Bulldogs defense. 

Drake is not afraid to take on Texas Tech in this matchup.  They already beat Vanderbilt, Missouri, Miami, and Kansas State this season.  Drake is only giving up 58.4 points per game, and even though Texas Tech has a terrific offense, this Bulldogs team has been able to step up and force turnovers and score when needed.  The Red Raiders will do everything they can to get their offense clicking by moving the ball around, but it’s not going to be that easy.  This Texas Tech team is loaded with talent, averaging 80.9 ppg compared to Drakes 70.0 ppg.  Texas Tech also has a solid defense, giving up just 67.7 ppg this season.  This is going to be a heavyweight battle, and Drake was just able to limit Missouri to just 57 points, a team that was averaging 83.6 ppg this season.  I’m not sure if Drake will march on to the sweet 16, but I do think they have the talent to keep this game close and will cover the spread in the second round.
