Ipswich should provide a tricky first test for new Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim but the Portuguese coach should still get off to a winning start. Amorim will need to be given time to try and sort out United’s extensive list of problems after succeeding Erik ten Hag, but his reign is at least set to begin with a win at Portman Road on Sunday. The Red Devils’ players will obviously be keen to impress Amorim at the first opportunity and they are expected to see off the Tractor Boys, who are yet to win at home in the league this season and only got their first victory in the EPL right before the international break when they beat Tottenham away 2-1.

United’s form picked up under interim boss Ruud van Nistelrooy, who unleashed a more attacking side than the often disjointed and defensively open one that operated under the much-criticized Ten Hag. 3 wins and a tie under Van Nistelrooy in all competitions means the visitors will approach the trip to Ipswich with plenty of confidence anyway. Ipswich have shown they have goals in them, hitting 12 in their first 11 games, and they have only failed to score in 3 league games. They should be good enough to find the net once again but are unlikely to spoil Amorim’s big day.
