Liverpool’s fine form in the EPL looks likely to continue with another post-international break win at Southampton. The Reds resume the season 5 points clear at the top of the standings after 9 wins from their first 11 Premier League games under new head coach Arne Slot, and there appears little chance of a shock slip-up at St. Mary’s. Russel Martin’s strugglers have won just 1 game all season and are bottom of the standings with a tough relegation battle on their agenda over the winter. The hosts will attempt to raise their game to make it as competitive as they can on Sunday, but Liverpool should be ruthless enough to secure another 3 points. 

Liverpool have made a nice habit of winning when not always at their best, rarely blowing the opposition away so far, and this south-coast clash could be a similar story.  Despite their woeful form, Southampton have often been competitive in matches, losing by just one goal four times already this season, including at champions Manchester City, and they could play their part in an entertaining game and run the Reds close.
