Toronto Maple Leafs
Puck Line Pick
CHI Blackhawks +1.5(-125)

The Toronto Maple Leafs travel to Chicago to take on the Blackhawks for the second time this season. It’s no secret that the Blackhawks are a terrible hockey team. They are last in most offensive categories and aren’t any better when it comes to keeping the puck out of their own net. On paper, this feels like a mismatch, but if we dive into the number a little more, you’ll see that maybe this isn’t going to be a blow out.

Toronto is playing their second game in as many nights, but for players like Mitch Marner and Auston Matthews, this is their 3rd game in four days. They went all the way to the end of the $ Nations tournament, so maybe fatigue starts to settle in. Chicago is also playing on back-to-back nights– and they were not good against Columbus– but they play better on home ice and they may have more legs as the games goes on. Toronto is still the better overall team, but this game will be closer than most people expect. It’s hard to trust Chicago to come away with a win, but I can see them getting this game to overtime and covering the Puck Line, so that’s the lean we’ll take.

Maple Leafs vs Blackhawks prediction: Chicago Blackhawks -1.5 (-125) available at the time of publishing. Playable at that number or better.
