Wild vs Devils Pickswise Expert Predictions
The New Jersey Devils will be back on home ice Monday night, when they host the Minnesota Wild. This will be the second consecutive game that the Devils and Wild have faced off against one another. Even though the game was played in Minnesota, the Devils managed to win the game by a score of 5-2. They have lost their last 3 games on home ice, which is surprising for a team that plays solid at home. It won’t be so easy beating the Wild in two consecutive games. The Wild are a much better team on the road than at home; their road record is 22-11-3. Both of these teams are missing a superstar, the Devils’ Jack Hughes and the Wild’s Kirill Kaprizov. Without them I believe the Devils have a stronger team. The Wild relied much more heavily on Kaprizov than the Devils did on Hughes. NJ’s should be enough to carry it past Minnesota once again.
The Devils powerplay is ranked fourth in the NHL, operating at an impressive 28.1%. I expect this to be a factor in the game, as the Wild’s penalty kill is brutal. It currently ranks second-last in the NHL, operating at 71.4%. I think the Devils will get it done on home ice.
Wild vs Devils prediction: New Jersey ML (-150) available at time of publishing. Playable at that number.
