Bruins vs Blue Jackets Pickswise Expert Predictions
Despite their rough start to the season, the Boston Bruins seemed to have figured things out under their new head coach. They now sit in third place in the Atlantic Division, just four points out of first place. They are 7-2-1 in their last 10 games and riding a 2-game winning streak. In one previous meeting with the Blue Jackets this season, the Bruins lost the game 5-1. That game showed us one thing that has been consistent for the Blue Jackets all season long; goal scoring. They are averaging 3.31 goals for per game. Combine this with the third worst team goals against average in the NHL, 3.63 goals against per game, and it results in a lot of high-scoring games for the Blue Jackets.
The Bruins should be able to match the goal scoring of the Blue Jackets and pick apart netminder Elvis Merzlikins who has a 3.13 GAA and .889 SVP on the season. Their own goalie, Jeremy Swayman, has not been much better. He has a 3.05 GAA and .887 SVP on the season. The Blue Jackets lack defensive structure which should allow this game to open right up for a lot of goal scoring. Both teams will be well rested from the holiday break and should come out flying. I will be taking over six goals in this game, which will bring in an opportunity to push, should they not eclipse the total on Friday.
