The biggest soccer match on the planet takes place on Sunday as Argentina and France will face off to be crowned winners of the World Cup at the Lusail Iconic Stadium in Qatar.

Sportsbooks have found it difficult to separate the teams with Argentina great Lionel Messi hoping to finally get his hands on the one trophy not in his collection, while France, spearheaded by the brilliant Kylian Mbappe, will want to successfully defend the title it won in Russia 4 years ago.

Let’s dive into our Argentina vs France Same Game Parlay for the World Cup final, which is available at +1088 odds with FanDuel Sportsbook.

France ML (+180)

France ML over Argentina (+180)

Few people would contest that Lionel Messi has not been at his brilliant best during this tournament but, just as it did in 2014 when he was voted the best player at the tournament and reached the final, it could end in disappointment. He has scored 5 goals, not including shootouts, and has been ably supported by Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez, who has 4. The pair have found an excellent partnership. However, that might not be enough against the dynamic French.

Didier Deschamps’ team has no weakness. The strength in midfield is a great asset, Kylian Mbappe is the pretender to be soccer’s next greatest active player and Olivier Giroud is defying his age to lead Les Bleus superbly in attack. All the right ingredients are there for a successful defense of the trophy.

Both teams to score (-102)

Having said that, Argentina still has the ability to take any chances that come its way so it would not be a huge surprise if both teams found the net. The semifinal win over Morocco was the first time in the tournament that France had a shutout and if teams such as Australia, Denmark and Poland can score against them, then Argentina certainly can. The threat of Messi and Alvarez is significant and France should have to fight all the way.

A similar story to the 4-2 victory it secured against Croatia in the final 4 years ago cannot be ruled out, but let’s just stick with both teams scoring this time. There is a good chance it will happen.

Kylian Mbappe 2+ shots on target (+150)

Kylian Mbappe will be the focus of the France attack and it will be interesting to see whether Argentina adopts a specific tactic to stop the Paris Saint-Germain star. England tried that in the quarterfinals with a degree of success but he is unlikely to stay quiet for long and should be at the center of things for the champions.

Mbappe has had 25 efforts at goals during this tournament and 10 of those have been on target, so as he looks to shine on the biggest stage, expect him to try his luck frequently and force a goalkeeper’s save at least a couple of times.
