With the conclusion of Monday Night Football, we have to wait a few days before more pigskin gets tossed around. Although there is a relative calm before another storm, there are always betting opportunities in the world of sports. On Tuesday it mostly belongs to baseball. Let’s dive in and take a look at what’s in store!
About Last Night
Clean sweep of Packers -11 and over 48
It’s safe to say that the Pickswise NFL team wrapped up Week 2 in style. John Hyslop was all over the Green Bay Packers against the spread (-11) and the over (48). Neither play was much of a sweat, as Green Bay dominated the entire second half to defeat the Detroit Lions 35-17. The Packers are -225 to win the NFC North, +700 to win the NFC, and +1400 to win the Super Bowl. Rodgers is +1600 to win MVP. Pickswise analyst Andrew Ortenberg recapped what went down on Monday Night Football.
Productive day in playoff race for Braves, Yankees
For the second day in a row, the Atlanta Braves picked up a game on the Philadelphia Phillies and now lead the NL East by 3. Atlanta rolled over the Arizona Diamondbacks 11-4 on Monday, while Philadelphia fell to the Baltimore Orioles 2-0. The New York Yankees scraped past the Texas Rangers 4-3. Combined with the Toronto Blue Jays’ 6-4 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays, the Yankees are just a half-game back of the American League’s second wild-card spot. Atlanta is -475 to win its division; the Bronx Bombers are +110 to make the playoffs.

Best Bet of the Day
Cleveland Indians ML over Kansas City Royals
6:10 pm ET, BSOH
The Indians are a young team with lots of talent, both in the lineup and on the mound. Some of the latter will be on display on Tuesday night. Cal Quantrill came over from the Padres in the Mike Clevinger deal last August, a trade that’s looking better and better for Cleveland by the day. In 137.0 innings this year he has pitched to a 2.89 ERA. For the Royals, Daniel Lynch (5.34 ERA) is allowing opposing batters to hit .292 against him through 13 starts.
