The NFL season may have come and gone, but the NBA, NHL, college basketball, and Winter Olympics are all picking up the slack. It’s safe to say that there are still plenty of happenings in the world of sports. As such, let’s not waste any time and get right to making your next bet better. Here is our latest installment of Wise n’ Shine!
About Last Night
Thunder, Pelicans cash our +1070 NBA mega parlay
We tipped off the week at Pickswise by cashing our +1070 NBA mega parlay on Monday. The Thunder pulled off a huge upset of the Knicks as +400 underdogs and we also had the Pelicans (+134) to win outright against the Raptors.
NHL experts go 3-1 ML/PL, 3-1 O/U
It was also a successful day at the NHL office, as the Pickswise experts went 3-1 on both sides and totals. We had Minnesota and Toronto on the 3-way money line and neither team had any trouble winning in regulation. The Wild hammered the Red Wings 7-4, while the Maple Leafs trounced the Kraken 6-2.
Virginia goes down to Virginia Tech
Virginia had been on a roll to the tune of a 4-game winning streak with a victory at Duke, but the Cavaliers lost at rival Virginia Tech 62-53 on Monday night. It was a typically low-scoring slog involving UVA, as Under 120.5 cashed with relative ease.
Today’s Slate

Eleven top 25 teams taking the court
We have a sizable weekday schedule on our hands in college basketball with 11 top-25 teams lacing up their sneakers. Among them are Duke, Michigan State, Kentucky, Tennessee, Providence, and Villanova. Check out all of our CBB picks.
Boston vs New York among big NHL matchups
There are 9 games in the NHL on Tuesday, 5 of which see teams with winning records go head-to-head. That includes the Bruins visiting the Rangers and the Capitals going up against the Predators. You can find all of our hockey coverage on the NHL page.
Best Bet of the Day
Texas Longhorns -1 over Oklahoma Sooners
7:00 pm ET, ESPN
Texas lost at Baylor over the weekend, but the Longhorns had previously been in fine form and Oklahoma is an opponent that most definitely isn’t Baylor. In fact, the Sooners may not even get an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. An upset of Kansas this past Saturday would have been a big boost, but that didn’t happen. Head coach Porter Moser probably had more talent to work with on his recent Loyola-Chicago teams than he does in year one with Oklahoma. It’s hard to see how the Sooners solve a stout Texas defense. Even on the road in this basketball version of the Red River Rivalry, the ‘Horns should prevail without too much trouble. Read our full game preview for Texas vs Oklahoma.
Must-watch
Don’t miss our daily sports betting show, Let’s Bet It! On Tuesday, Lauren Jbara and Mark Zinno will start by breaking down the college basketball slate — focusing on Villanova vs Providence and Kentucky vs Tennessee. Former NBA champion Brian Scalabrine will join the show for Celtics and Lakers discussions plus NBA picks. As always, there will also be NHL Ice Picks and Plays of the Day.
Check it out starting at 10:00 am ET on our YouTube channel at https://youtube.com/c/Pickswise.
Must-read
We already have some picks for Tuesday that are well worth a look. Filip Tomic is gearing up for Celtics vs 76ers with a +1693 same game parlay, while NHL handicapper Chad Wetzel makes his debut in the props market with two goal-scoring prop bets.
It’s also never too early to start looking ahead toward Super Bowl LVII. The odds for next year’s Super Bowl are already out, of course, so it’s worth asking, “Who could be the 2022-23 vesion of this season’s Bengals?”
Check out more great content as it arrives throughout the day on the Analysis tab.

The Pelicans are 6-1 in their last 7 games against the Grizzlies and 7-0 ATS during this stretch. Newcomer CJ McCollum is averaging 29.5 ppg in his last 2 contests with New Orleans.
