Game 1 of the World Series has set the scene for a fascinating showdown between the Atlanta Braves and the Houston Astros and we get the second installment tonight, plus there’s NBA and NHL action on a wonderful Wednesday of sports. Let’s get straight to making your next bet better!

About Last Night

Braves take the lead
One game into the World Series and we have a new favorite already. The Atlanta Braves went into the Fall Classic as a +130 underdog, but after winning Game 1 6-2 in Houston on Tuesday night, they are -155 to be the 2021 MLB champions, with the Astros +135. Atlanta pitcher Charlie Morton threw 16 pitches after breaking his leg, but his loss for the rest of the series gives the Braves every incentive to get things wrapped up as fast as they can.

Lakers rally without LeBron
The Warriors (4-0) and Jazz (3-0) kept up their unbeaten starts in the NBA with wins on Tuesday night while the Lakers (2-2) staged a late rally to beat the Spurs in overtime despite missing the injured LeBron James.

Today’s Slate

Fried vs Urquidy in Game 2
We stay in Houston for Game 2 of the World Series (8:09pm ET, Fox) and the Astros are -116 odds to level the series with FanDuel Sportsbook, while the Braves can be backed at plus-odds (+105) with DraftKings Sportsbook to take a 2-0 lead heading to Atlanta for Game 3 on Friday. Max Fried starts for the Braves tonight with Jose Urquidy on the mound for the Astros. Read our preview of World Series Game 2 here.

10-game NBA slate
We have an action-packed 10-game midweek NBA schedule tonight, featuring the Hawks against the Pelicans at 7:30 pm ET on ESPN and the Grizzlies against the Trail Blazers on the same channel at 10pm ET. Check out our previews of today’s NBA games here.

Panthers bid to stay unbeaten
We have just 5 NHL games today but there’s plenty of quality with the fast-starting Florida Panthers (6-0-0) taking on the 3-1-0 Boston Bruins (7:08pm ET, NHL Network).  You can read all today’s NHL game previews here.

Best Bet of the Day

Washington Capitals ML vs Detroit Red Wings
7:00 pm ET, ESPN+

The Washington Capitals have looked nearly unstoppable this season. Their offense is firing on all cylinders and averaging almost 5 goals a game. Alex Ovechkin, Evgeny Kuznetsov, and TJ Oshie have combined for 15 goals and the suspect Detroit defense can’t be trusted to hold them back tonight. Read our full game preview for Red Wings vs Capitals.

Boost of the Day

30+ three-pointers made in Heat vs Nets

The Miami Heat against the Brooklyn Nets have some potential heavy scorers who have not found their form yet this season but those who think the explosion is coming can back 30+ 3-pointers to be scored in the game at enhanced odds of +230 (was +200) with DraftKings Sportsbook.
