Lakers eliminated from playoff contention
The 2022 NBA playoffs will not feature the Los Angeles Lakers, who completed the set of 10 teams who will not be making even the play-in tournament when losing 121-11o to the Phoenix Suns last night. The Spurs beat the Nuggets 116-97 to eliminate the Lakers. In the West, the Kings, Blazers, Thunder and Rockets are the other teams eliminated, while the Wizards, Knicks, Pacers, Pistons and Magic are the teams missing out in the East. Pickswise handicapper Germantas Kneita cashed a +765 odds same game parlay on the Rockets vs Nets game.
Top teams serve up some thrillers in the NHL
Tuesday’s 10-game slate produced some great contests, headed by the Panthers beating the Maple Leafs 7-6 in overtime. The Avalanche beat the Penguins 6-4, while the Predators beat the Wild 6-2. There were upsets too, with the Sabres beating the Hurricanes 4-2 and the Red Wings beating the Bruins 5-3.

Detroit heads up to Winnipeg having played Boston last night, while the Jets have been at home and resting since Saturday. Better yet for the Jets, their best skater, Kyle Connor, is set to return after 3 games out and Winnipeg severely missed him. He returns in a great matchup, as the Red Wings are the worst goaltending team in the league, allowing almost 4 goals per game. The teams have met only once this season, but the Jets handled the Red Wings in Detroit with a shutout victory.
