Welcome to another terrific Tuesday of sports. There are no Game 7s today, but we have some great Game 1s coming up this week, starting in the NHL tonight. We also have MLB and tennis on today’s slate, so let’s get straight to making your next bet better!
About Last Night
Rangers win on the road at last
The New York Rangers discovered the secret to beating the Carolina Hurricanes on home ice at exactly the right time, with a 6-2 win in Game 7. They will now face the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Eastern Conference Finals, starting tomorrow night. FanDuel Sportsbook has the Avalanche as +120 favorites for the Stanley Cup, with the Lightning +230, Rangers +500 and Oilers +550.
Runs everywhere on Memorial Day
There were plenty of runs around in the MLB on Memorial Day, with 7 of the 13 games producing double-digit run totals and only 2 games seeing fewer than 7 runs scored. The Orioles routed the Red Sox 10-0, the Mets beat the Nationals 13-5 and the Pirates rallied in the 9th inning to upset the Dodgers 6-5.
Today’s Slate
NHL Conference Finals get started
The NBA Finals are just 2 days away and the NHL is not far behind, with the Western Conference Finals between the Edmonton Oilers and Colorado Avalanche getting started tonight. Game 1 is on TNT at 8:00 pm ET tonight. Check out today’s NHL Oilers vs Avalanche preview.
16 MLB games today!
We have an expanded 16-game MLB slate today as the Twins and Tigers are playing a doubleheader, with the first game being shown on ESPN+ at 1:10 pm ET. Angels vs Yankees is on TBS at 7:05 pm ET. Check out today’s MLB game previews.
Djokovic vs Nadal in Paris
There’s a huge game between Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal in the French Open tennis quarterfinals today (2:45 pm ET), and Ricky Dimon has a pick for that match among his best bets for the Day 10 action.
Best Bet of the Day
Los Angeles Angels vs New York Yankees Over 8.5 runs
7:05 pm ET, TBS
With Shohei Ohtani, Mike Trout and Aaron Judge all on the same field there is more than enough star power to get over the number in this game. Also helping matters is the fact that the Blue Jays just wore out the Angels’ limited bullpen and the Yankees are missing their top 3 relievers. LA’s relievers have an ERA of 5.81 over their last 7 games and Noah Syndergaard rarely works deep, so the Yankees’ big bats could do some real damage. Read our full game preview for Angels vs Yankees.
