About Last Night
MLB team in fine form
Baseball betting is supposed to get tricky at this time of the season as some teams take their foot off the gas, but our MLB handicappers skipped through puddles of the rained-out games to emerge with an 8-4 record on Wednesday’s slate. Our Wednesday parlay cashed (Yankees -1.5, Astros -1.5, and a washout), and John Hyslop’s best player prop of over 4.5 Joe Ryan strikeouts also landed with ease. The St. Louis Cardinals made it 11 straight wins and they are +3000 for the World Series as they take a grip on an NL wild-card spot.
Today’s Slate
Mills ready to roll for Texans
NFL primetime games have been sensational so far this season, and if a Panthers vs Texans game also manages to be a thriller, we’ll really know the league has found a lucky charm. The 2-0 Panthers are off to a fine start in the Sam Darnold era, while the Texans (1-1) have shown some veteran savvy and plenty of fight but will be led by rookie QB Davis Mills tonight. Read our full preview of Panthers vs Texans here.
Week 4 of CFB gets underway
Around an hour before the Panthers/Texans game gets underway, college football action kicks off as Marshall battles Appalachian State live on ESPN. Can the Thundering Herd respond from their 17-point collapse to East Carolina last week, or will Appalachian State secure another victory? Check out our picks on the side and total for this game.
MLB set to make a splash
Rain affected Wednesday’s MLB slate but we have 12 games scheduled for today, including a doubleheader between the White Sox and Indians, with the 6:10pm ET game on ESPN+. Check out our picks for all today’s MLB action here.
Best Bet of the Day
Philadelphia Phillies -1.5 vs Pittsburgh Pirates
7:05pm ET, NBCSP
The Phillies are trying to make a push and they need starter Aaron Nola to dig deep and finish strong. He was solid in his last start but pitched only 5.0 innings. He has been better at home where his ERA is 2 runs lower. This Pittsburgh lineup is one he should have success against. Read our full preview for this game here.
