Has there ever been a better day to hear the sweet sound of objects being struck by other objects? Specifically, baseballs being hit by bats on the Opening Day of the MLB season and golf balls being blasted around Augusta National on the first day of the Masters? What a combination that is, and there’s NBA and NHL action to keep us entertained today, too. Let’s get straight to making your next bet better!
About Last Night
Nets fight back in Battle of New York
The Brooklyn Nets decided they really didn’t want to damage their playoff seeding by losing at the New York Knicks last night, winning the 2nd half of the game 60-31 after trailing by 17 points at half-time. There was another lopsided game in California, as the Suns scored just 31 points in the 1st half and then 78 in the 2nd half, but still lost 113-109 to the Clippers.
Flames stay hot
The only matchup on Wednesday’s NHL slate to be decided by fewer than 2 goals saw the Capitals beat the Lightning 4-3, while the Pacific Division leaders the Flames moved further ahead of the Oilers and Kings with a 4-2 road win over the Ducks.

Best Bet of the Day
Milwaukee Brewers ML vs Chicago Cubs
2:20 pm ET
The Brewers are built on dominant pitching from top to bottom, and 2021 Cy Young winner Corbin Burnes will be toeing the rubber for the Brew Crew in the opening game of the 2022 MLB season. Burnes began last season by striking out 58 batters before recording a walk, an MLB record. Offensively, the Brewers have added veteran Andrew McCutchen and Hunter Renfroe, who combined for 58 home runs last season. Considering Renfroe will likely bat 6th, it shows the depth of their lineup. Kyle Hendricks starts for the Cubs. It’s difficult to know which Hendricks will show up, but siding with Burnes, a dominant bullpen, and a deep Brewers lineup is the smart play. Check out our full preview for Brewers vs Cubs.
