About Last Night
Hornets and Spurs eliminated
Just 18 possible NBA champions remain after the Hornets and Spurs had their seasons ended by losses in the play-in tournament on Wednesday night. The Hawks strolled to a 132-103 win over Charlotte to book a Friday trip to Cleveland to battle for the #8 seed in the East, while the Pelicans picked off the Spurs 113-103 and now head to Los Angeles to take on the Clippers for the final playoff place in the West.
Kershaw denied shot at perfect game
The Major League form is starting to come into focus and the Pickswise team went 8-4 on the sides on Wednesday’s slate. The day’s big talking point was the Dodgers pulling Clayton Kershaw after he had pitched 7 perfect innings against the Twins, a game his team went on to win 7-0.
Avalanche crush Kings
There were only 3 NHL games on Wednesday, but our cappers went a solid 2-1 on both the sides and totals, and also cashed our only best bet of the Avalanche 3-way money line, which was never a worry as they beat the Kings 9-3.

Tampa Bay Lightning -1.5 vs Anaheim Ducks

The Lightning appeared to have got out of their rough stretch with a 5-0 win over the Sabres. However, they followed that up with a 1-0 loss to the Stars. The Ducks provide a prime opportunity to get themselves back on track again. Anaheim has been on a cross-country road trip since Sunday, having to face arguably the 3 best teams in the NHL. The Ducks lost 5-2 to the Hurricanes, and 3-2 to the Panthers, and now they get the Lightning. They had the performance of a lifetime against Florida and still wound up losing that game in overtime.
