We still have one day left in the first week of NCAA Tournament action. The teams that played on Thursday and Saturday completely delivered the goods with some wild entertainment; therefore Sunday has some big shoes to fill after Friday left a little bit to be desired. It’s another big day in the world of sports, so let’s not waste any time and get right to making your next bet better. Here is our latest installment of Wise n’ Shine!
About Last Night
North Carolina withstands Baylor charge
The first second-round game was the most notable. North Carolina and Baylor tipped off Saturday’s NCAA Tournament proceedings with a positively wild contest. The defending champion Bears came back from 25 points down in the second to force overtime, but the Tar Heels ended up surviving 93-86. It will be UNC versus UCLA in the Sweet 16.
LeBron passes Malone, but Lakers lose
LeBron James is great; his team is not. That has been the story pretty much all season long for the Lakers, and more of the same continued on Saturday. LeBron passed Karl Malone for second place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list by pouring in 38, but L.A. went down 127-119 to Washington.
Matthews returns, Pickswise benefits
Auston Matthews returned from a 2-game suspension and our NHL experts wasted no time capitalizing. One of our 2 player prop bets had him scoring a goal at +120, and that is exactly what he did in Toronto’s 6-3 loss at Nashville. We also cashed Cole Caufield lighting the lamp at +175. He found the back of the net as Montreal hammered Ottawa 5-1.
Today’s Slate
Sweet 16 will be set
Only 16 teams will remain in the NCAA Tournament when Sunday comes to an end. Will head coach Mike Krzyzewski’s final game come when Duke goes up against Tom Izzo’s Michigan State squad? Check out all of our CBB picks.
Celtics-Nuggets part of 9-game NBA schedule
A 9-game slate in the NBA is headlined by Boston (43-28) paying a visit to Denver (42-29). Memphis, Phoenix, Utah, Philadelphia, and Golden State are also taking the court. Head over to our NBA picks page to see all of our previews and predictions.
Rangers-‘Canes is as big as it gets in the NHL
There are 6 games in the NHL on Sunday. By far the most intriguing one pits the Rangers (39-18-5) against the Hurricanes (41-14-6). You can find all of our hockey coverage on the NHL page.
Best Bet of the Day
Villanova -5.5 over Ohio State
2:40 pm ET, CBS
The Buckeyes advanced to the second round by disposing of Loyola Chicago in a game that actually few people outside of Ohio expected them to win. They did – and they did it with defense. Ohio State held the Loyola Chicago to 41 points on 26.8 percent shooting from the field, including an 8-for-28 effort from deep. Unfortunately for the Buckeyes, their next opponent is a whole different beast. The Ramblers were really victims of their own demise on Friday, but the Wildcats won’t be so generous. Villanova has won two of the last five NCAA Tournaments and it has momentum going into this one after winning the Big East Tournament. Five different ‘Nova players scored in double-figures during a round-one defeat of Delaware. Defensively, the ‘Cats rank 41st in the nation in opponent 3-point percentage. Stat of the Day
Per KenPom, Arizona ranks in the top 10 of the nation in opponent 2-point shooting percentage and effective field-goal percentage. TCU has gone 5 straight games without reaching the 70-point mark. The Wildcats and the under could be the way to go in Sunday’s second-round showdown.
Boost of the Day

Boosted to +165 with DraftKings Sportsbook
DraftKings Sportsbook is celebrating Donovan Mitchell’s return from a 1-game absence by boosting his odds to score at least 30 points in the Jazz-Knicks game from +145 to +165.
