Busy night in the NHL
With the NBA on its All-Star break and college basketball gearing up for a massive Saturday, the NHL took the reins on Friday. Luckily for us, the league put on a good show, as we had a number of competitive games throughout the evening. Our NHL handicapping team had a solid 4-3 night on the ice, and we hit our 3-star best bet on the Rangers money line after New York completed a furious comeback in a 5-4 victory over the Oilers.

College hoops takes center stage

NCAAB: Kansas Jayhawks -4.5 over Baylor Bears
4:00 pm ET, ESPN
Thanks to the emergence of Ernest Udeh Jr, Joseph Yesufu and others on the Jayhawks bench in recent games, this team suddenly looks like a National Championship contender again. Jalen Wilson continues to be one of the best players in the country, but his scoring has taken a slight step back of late in order to distribute the ball more and allow greater contributions from the supporting cast. Dajuan Harris, KJ Adams and Kevin McCullar have all stepped up, while Gradey Dick continues to be one of the nation’s best shooters at over 43 percent from beyond the arc. Dick just had a career-high in points on Tuesday, and Baylor’s guards should have a tough time tracking him around the perimeter in this one.
Obviously the backcourt trio of Adam Flagler, LJ Cryer and Keyonte George are excellent, but I don’t expect Baylor’s role players to handle this hostile environment very well. Given that it’s a revenge spot and Self’s outstanding cover history as a home favorite of 6 points or less, I have to side with Kansas here. Read our full Baylor vs Kansas predictions.
