Wise n' Shine: NFL Week 8 predictions, NBA and NHL predictions for Sunday, October 30

Welcome to another stellar Sunday of sports! We have a huge day in the NFL, along with NBA and NHL action, so let’s get straight to making your next bet better!

About Last Night

World Series is tied 1-1
The Phillies weren’t able to replicate their Game 1 comeback as they fell to the Astros 5-2 in Game 2. Our cappers cashed our Astros ML bet and a +425 Same Game Parlay on the game. Game 3 is on Monday in Philadelphia, so be on the lookout for our preview of that huge matchup soon!

Week 9 of the college football season was crazy
Penn State was beating Ohio State 21-16 in the 4th quarter and it looked like the Buckeyes might actually lose a game! But a 28-point 4th quarter secured a 44-31 victory for Ohio State, but we still cashed our Penn State +16 bet. In other top-25 news, #22 Kansas State smoked #9 Oklahoma State 48-0, #16 Syracuse fell to Notre Dame 41-24, #3 Tennessee rolled over #12 Kentucky 44-6, and #10 Wake Forest fell to Louisville by a score of 48-21.

Best Bet of the Day

NFL: New England Patriots -1.5 over New York Jets
1:00 pm ET, CBS

Bill Belichick has won 12 straight over his former employer and 32 of the last 38 dating back to 2003. Sure a lot of those games were with Tom Brady under center, but the last 4 weren’t — including a 79-19 scoring margin in the 2 meetings last season with Mac Jones starting. On the other side of the ball, the Jets’ defense has looked great thanks to Sauce Gardner’s elite play in the secondary — but that might not matter much in this particular matchup. Styles make fights, and the Patriots are unlikely to try to force the ball toward Gardner in 1-on-1 matchups. New England has some of the most conservative splits of any team in the NFL with the 6th-fewest passing attempts (28.7) and 8th-most rushing attempts (28.1) this season.
