Good morning, Pickswise Nation, and welcome to another wonderful week of sports. We have a big football game to look forward to tonight and there’s also more MLB playoffs on the horizon, so let’s get straight to making your next bet better!
About Last Night
NFL Week 5 doesn’t disappoint
Sunday Night Football featured the day’s most compelling game, and it delivered under the lights. The Ravens got a field goal from Justin Tucker as time expired to knock off the Bengals 19-17 and improve to 3-2 on the season. Baltimore still hasn’t won and covered a spread at home in some time, as Cincinnati was able to cover the +3 as short road underdogs. The Ravens now hold the lead in the AFC North with the victory.
Elsewhere around the NFL, the Eagles remained the NFL’s only unbeaten team, moving to 5-0 with a 20-17 win over the Cardinals. The Bills routed the Steelers at home, while the Giants knocked off the Packers in London. The Buccaneers escaped against the Falcons and the Cowboys knocked off the Rams in Los Angeles to improve to 4-1.
Padres send Mets packing
After winning 100 games this season, the Mets were ignominiously eliminated from the MLB playoffs in 3 games by the San Diego Padres. Sunday’s loss at home was a painful one for Mets fans, as their team fell 6-0 while mustering up just one hit. The Padres will now go on to face the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday.

Off day in the MLB playoffs
After an eventful Wild Card Weekend, the MLB playoffs will take a breather on Monday before returning on Tuesday. The ALDS features the Yankees vs the Guardians and Astros vs Mariners, while the NLDS sees the Dodgers take on the Padres and Braves play the Phillies. You can read our MLB picks for every playoff game here.
There’s soccer and tennis, too

Best Bet of the Day
NFL: Kansas City Chiefs -7 (-115) over Las Vegas Raiders
8:15 pm ET
The Chiefs are rolling on offense, sitting #1 in EPA. They are facing a Raiders defense that really hasn’t stopped anyone yet this season and ranks 24th in EPA on drop-backs, 30th in yards per attempt allowed adjusted by opponent, has allowed the 4th-highest rate of explosive passes and is 28th in pressure rate. That’s not a recipe for success when you are about to go up against Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and the rest of Kansas City’s offensive weapons. Check out our full Raiders vs Chiefs predictions.
