Rock-solid day on MLB totals for Pickswise
The Pickswise MLB team was in-form for Wednesday’s 15-game MLB slate, as our handicappers went 10-4-1 with our over/under total picks. In other baseball news, the Yankees won again while the Mets lost another game to the Cubs. However, the NL East standings didn’t change much, as the Braves lost to the Giants. The Dodgers also lost to the Diamondbacks in a day filled with upsets, but our handicappers were on the right side of that one after picking Arizona to win.

Thursday Night Football promises a thriller
Week 2 kicks off in Kansas City, where the Chiefs are 4-point favorites over the Los Angeles Chargers. This could prove to be a pivotal AFC West showdown as both teams are expected to be contending for the division, as well as playoff positioning down the road. Smaller MLB slate today
It’s a smaller MLB slate today, with action getting underway in the afternoon. The White Sox and Guardians get us going at 1:10 pm ET and the Rays and Blue Jays get started on ESPN+ at 3:35 pm ET. Mets vs Pirates is being shown on FOX at 7:20 pm ET, while the A’s battle the Astros at the same time. Be sure to check out all of today’s MLB predictions.

NFL: LA Chargers vs Kansas City Chiefs: 1st half under 27
8:15 pm ET, Amazon Prime
While this is a scary proposition considering these two teams and QBs, this total seems a bit inflated. It seemed too high even with Keenan Allen in the lineup, but a 1st half under looks even better with Allen out of the lineup. The Chargers defense is much improved from a season ago and it showed in their victory over the Raiders on Sunday. Los Angeles pressured Derek Carr at a 30% rate, which clearly flustered the Las Vegas quarterback and forced him into mistakes. An under in the 1st half also shields you from late-game fireworks. In 3 games of this Herbert vs Mahomes matchup, each game has gone under in the first half with 17, 24 and 20 total points scored respectively.
