Good morning, Pickswise Nation! We would say how weird it is to wake up this morning in a world where Tom Brady is no longer an NFL player, but then we did almost get used to that for a month or so last year! The NHL begins its All-Star break today but we still have NBA, college basketball and golf on the schedule, so let’s get straight to making your next bet better.

About Last Night

Celtics demolish Nets
The Nets crushed the Celtics 139-96 on Wednesday night, making light of an 8-point spread. Meanwhile, the Timberwolves came back from an 11-point deficit after 3 quarters to beat the Warriors 119-114 after overtime.

Big wins for Hurricanes and Bruins
The NHL signed off for its midseason break with a couple of wins by top teams as the Hurricanes beat the Sabres 5-1 and the Bruins overcame the Maple Leafs 5-2. Heading into the All-Star break, the Bruins are favorites for the Stanley Cup at +500 with FanDuel Sportsbook, which has the Hurricanes at +700 and the Avalanche at +750.

Florida upsets #2 Tennessee
#1 Purdue rolled to an 80-60 win over Penn State on Wednesday, but #2 Tennessee lost 67-54 at Florida. Under 132 points in that game cashed our only college hoops 3-star play of the day.

Today’s Slate

Clippers vs Bucks on TNT
The NBA dominates the professional sports scene today with a 7-game slate, which includes Grizzlies vs Cavaliers on TNT at 7:30 pm ET and Clippers vs Bucks on the same channel at 10:00 pm ET. Check out today’s NBA picks.

There’s college hoops and golf too
Houston, Arizona, UCLA and Gonzaga are among the top college hoops teams taking the court today and you can read all of today’s college basketball picks. There is also still time to get involved on golf’s Pebble Beach Pro-Am, so be sure to check out our golf predictions from Diane Knox Balas.

Best Bet of the Day

NBA: Michigan Wolverines +4.5 over Northwestern Wildcats
7:00 pm ET, ESPN2

Michigan is the recommended side in this game as it matches up well with Northwestern, whose defense hasn’t been quite as good in Big Ten play as it was in the non-conference season. If the Wolverines can take good care of the ball, they should be able to score on the Wildcat defense. Northwestern has the highest free-throw rate in the conference at 36.2%, with Iowa a distant second at 30.9. Michigan does not foul much, ranking inside the top 50 nationally in defensive free-throw rate. Michigan can keep this game close and at least cover the spread. Check out our full Michigan vs Northwestern predictions.

You can bet on this Michigan vs Northwestern game at DraftKings Sportsbook, which has a great sign-up offer where you can bet $5 and get $200 in bonus bets instantly! Click here to take advantage and get your bonus bets right now.
