After suffering a humiliating defeat at home in Game 2, the Golden Knights took control from the opening period in a dominant 5-1 victory over the Oilers in Edmonton on Monday night. Having stolen home ice back from the Oilers, Las Vegas will look to seize control of the series in Game 4 on Wednesday.

I’ve been waiting for the Mariners’ offense to break out of their month-long slump, but I’m starting to think it’s just who they are now. Seattle has one of the weakest offenses in the league as they finished dead-last in batting average in April. One of the main reasons for their offensive struggles has been facing left-handed pitchers because Seattle currently ranks 29th in batting average, 30th in on-base percentage and 29th in OPS against southpaws. They also have the 5th highest strikeout rate when facing left-handed pitching, so it’s not like they’re putting the ball in play and getting unlucky – they’re just not making contact.
