About Last Night
Pickswise MLB best bets are ON FIRE
The Pickswise MLB experts remained scorching hot with their best bets, going 3-0 on Thursday. That takes our record to 7-0 over the past 2 days and 10-1 over the past 3. The Mets and Pirates straight up were among the 3-star plays that cashed for us on Thursday.
Golden State gets back in it
The Warriors are on the scoreboard in their series against the Kings, winning 114-97 at home on Thursday to cut the deficit to 2-1. Elsewhere, the 76ers now lead the Nets 3-0 and the Suns are up 2-1 on the Clippers.
Maple Leafs tie it up
Neither game in Toronto was good, but it’s safe to say the Maple Leafs vs Lightning series has been an interesting one so far. After the visitors dominated Game 1 by a 7-3 margin, the Leafs rolled 7-2 on Thursday. Other winners were the Rangers, Avalanche and Golden Knights.

Today’s Slate
Crucial contest for Cavaliers and Knicks
Only 1 of Friday’s NBA series is tied at 1-1. Either Cleveland or New York will take a 2-1 lead, but Boston and Denver are seeking respective 3-0 advantages at the expense of Atlanta and Minnesota. Read today’s NBA picks.
Game 3s take center stage in the NHL
The league-best Bruins will try to avoid falling into a 2-1 series deficit when they visit the Panthers for Game 3 of that first-round series. Meanwhile, the Hurricanes hope to build a huge 3-0 lead over the Islanders. Check out all of our hockey coverage with our NHL predictions.
2021 World Series rematch headlines 15-game schedule
A full 15-game slate of Major League Baseball action includes a rematch of the 2021 World Series between Atlanta and Houston. Friday’s conclusion is a 10:15 pm ET start time between the Mets and Giants, airing on ESPN+. Don’t miss our MLB predictions.
Best Bet of the Day
NHL: Boston Bruins vs Florida Panthers Over 6 (-120)
7:30 pm ET, TNT
After 2 games, the total has gone over once and stayed under once. Overall in the series, there have been 13 goals scored (6.5 goals per game average) following a 6-3 barrage in the second contest. Six — which is today’s total — is not a huge number. Boston’s Linus Ullmark has not played his best hockey in this series thus far, and entering a roaring road building will not make things easier for him. A very energized and confident Panthers team is likely to get plenty of pucks past him. On the flip side, the Bruins’ offense is almost impossible to shut down and whether they win or lose they will almost certainly get in on the offensive action. Check out our full Boston Bruins vs Florida Panthers predictions.

Stat of the Day
Both goaltenders in the Islanders vs Hurricanes series are in fine form. New York’s Ilya Sorokin stopped 35 of 37 shots in Game 1 and 33 of 36 in Game 2; Antti Raanta of Carolina stopped 25 of 26 in the opener and 23 of 26 on Wednesday.
Quote of the Day
“Their defense is definitely very good, but so is ours. (In) this series, the game is more of who can get steals and get easy baskets, get offensive rebounds, put-backs. Which team can do more of the dirty work? I think that’s the team that’ll win.”
— Knicks guard RJ Barrett prior to Game 3 against the Cavaliers
