Good morning, Pickswise Nation. Both the NBA and NHL playoffs continue on Monday night, while a new week in Major League Baseball begins. It’s another big day in the world of sports, so let’s get right to it and make your next bet better with Wise n’ Shine!

About Last Night

Dueling masterpieces from Booker and Jokic
Sunday’s NBA playoff games featured a pair of masterpieces from Devin Booker and Nikola Jokic, as the Suns evened up the Series with the Nuggets at 2 games apiece heading back to Denver. Out East, the Philadelphia 76ers got 42 points from James Harden in a massive overtime win against the Celtics to tie that series up at 2-2 as well.

Panthers take a 3-0 lead
Just a week after erasing a 3-1 series deficit to knock off the Boston Bruins in dramatic fashion, the Florida Panthers are now just 1 win away from the Eastern Conference Finals. Florida defeated the Leafs 3-2 in overtime to take a 3-0 series lead on Toronto. Elsewhere, the Devils routed the Hurricanes 8-4, while the Kraken dominated the Stars to take a 2-1 lead in that series.

Rays and Dodgers win in extras
After falling behind 6-0, the Tampa Bay Rays rallied to ultimately knock off the Yankees in extra innings, improving to an MLB-best 28-7 in the process. The highlight of the day came in San Diego, where the Dodgers tied the game in the 9th and bested the Padres with a 3-run 10th inning to steal the game and series.

Verstappen keeps rolling
The Miami GP went just like our expert thought it would. Even after starting 9th on the grid, we still tapped Max Verstappen to win the Grand Prix and for a double podium finish for Verstappen and Alonso at +130 odds. The Emilia Romagna Grand Prix is next up on the schedule on May 21.

Today’s Slate

Desperate times for the Knicks and Warriors
Monday’s NBA playoff slate features a pair of Game 4s that are must-wins for the road teams. Both the Knicks and Warriors were trounced on Saturday and need to get back in the win column to avoid trailing 3-1 in their respective series’. Read today’s NBA picks.

Game 3 between Oilers and Knights
It’s been a wild second round on the ice and no series exemplifies that more than Oilers-Knights, with the series score knotted at 1 game apiece. Who will take control of the proceedings in Game 3? Check out all of our hockey coverage on the NHL page.

11-game MLB slate
After a busy weekend on the diamond, the MLB action doesn’t stop on Monday with the Rays taking on the Orioles, Dodgers visiting Milwaukee and the Yankees in desperate need of a win against the A’s. Don’t miss all of our MLB predictions.

Best Bet of the Day

NBA: Miami Heat -4.5 (-110) over New York Knicks
7:30 pm ET, TNT

The 86 points the Knicks scored in Game 3 was their lowest total so far in the postseason. They started the game very slowly and it was clear that New York could just never get it going on offense. The Knicks 3-point shooting was at an abysmal 20%, while from the field they scored on just 34% of their attempts. The pressure is now on them to win Game 4 to avoid going down 3-1 in the series. After watching that game on Saturday, I’m not sure if Knicks fans can be confident going into Monday’s massive contest. Read our full Knicks vs Heat prediction
