Good morning, Pickswise Nation. We may be in between Week 9 and Week 10 of the NFL season, but there are plenty of offerings to pick up the slack. The Wednesday schedule includes college football, college basketball, the NBA and NHL. It’s another big day in the world of sports, so let’s get right to it and make your next bet better with Wise n’ Shine!
About Last Night
Midweek MACtion is back!
The Mid-American Conference got Week 11 of the college football season started on Tuesday and the Pickswise experts went 2-1 against the spread. Both Ohio and Toledo improved to 5-1 in the conference with respective victories over Miami (OH) and Ball State.
Georgetown actually wins a basketball game
Georgetown’s 21-game losing streak is over. The Hoyas, who went 6-25 last season (0-19 in the Big Ten), scraped past Coppin State 99-89 in overtime on Tuesday night.
Battle of New York goes to Islanders
While the NBA was idle, there were 11 games on the NHL schedule. An all-New York affair saw the Islanders defeat the Rangers 4-3, while the surprising Kraken improved to 8-4-2 with a 5-1 rout of the Predators. Winnipeg also won 5-1, improving to 8-3-1 with its victory over Dallas.

More Midweek MACtion!
Why have only 1 night of midweek MACtion when you can have 2?! Following Tuesday’s festivities, Wednesday’s schedule features Northern Illinois, Western Michigan, Buffalo, Central Michigan, Bowling Green and Kent State. Check out all of our college football predictions.
Week 1 of the college basketball season continues
The 2022-23 college basketball season has tipped off, making the current sports menu an absolute smorgasbord of riches. Louisville and LSU are among the teams taking the court on Wednesday. Our college basketball analysis will be going strong throughout the season.
NBA returns with 13 games
After every team had Tuesday off since it was election night in America, there are 13 games on today’s NBA schedule. It includes a doubleheader on ESPN that starts with the Brooklyn Nets hosting the New York Knicks before the battle of Los Angeles pits the Lakers against the Clippers. Don’t miss any of our NBA picks.
NHL doubleheader on TNT
The NHL has a small slate of games on Wednesday, but 4 is enough to find betting opportunities. The Pittsburgh Penguins and Washington Capitals get a TNT doubleheader started before it ends with the Minnesota Wild visiting the Anaheim Ducks. You can find our hockey coverage on the NHL page.
Best Bet of the Day
NBA: New Orleans Pelicans vs Chicago Bulls Over 229.5 (-110)
8:00 pm ET
Backing the over on a Pelicans road game is almost a must these days; that bet has landed 6 times in their last 7 away from home. That trend is likely to continue on Wednesday. An average of 234.3 points per game have been scored over the last 10 head-to-head and the over/under has gone 8-2 during that stretch — including the last 7 games in a row. The previous meeting in Chicago last season finished with a final score of 128-112 in favor of the Bulls. Both teams are healthy, so there will be plenty of firepower on both ends. If the Pacers are capable of putting 129 points on the Pelicans, Chicago should be able do the same. Check out our full Pelicans vs Bulls predictions.

Stat of the Day
The Pistons are 26th in the NBA in offensive rating while averaging just 107.7 points per game. On the road that drops all the way down to 103.8 per game, the 4th-lowest mark in the league. Unsurprisingly, the under has cashed in 4 of their last 5 games.
Quote of the Day
“It’s awesome. [Justin Fields] is a quarterback who continues to trend upward. It’s exciting. He’s special and I think he is showing that every play that he is out there. Sometimes they’ll be in the perfect coverage and he’ll make a play with his feet, extend the play and allow me extra opportunities to go do something. His ability to extend plays is just super awesome for me and all the receivers…. I like what I will be able to do in this offense.”
— Wide receiver Chase Claypool, whom the Bears acquired from the Steelers at the trade deadline
