The Boston Celtics trailed the Miami Heat 3-0 in the NBA Eastern Conference Finals, but it’s 3-3 now after Derrick White’s buzzer-beating tip-in denied Miami in Game 6 last night. Stars stay alive in NHL

Yankees beat Padres in 10th
The Yankees enjoyed a walk-off 3-2 win over the Padres in the 10th inning, while AL East-leading Rays lost 6-5 to NL West-leading Dodgers. The Rockies were the only team to reach a double-figure score, beating the Mets 10-7 at Coors Field.

The Nationals are looking for a 3-game sweep of the Royals on Sunday afternoon. It’s been a back-and-forth series that has seen the Royals’ bullpen blow up in both games and with both arm barns taxed, it will be up to the starters to go deep into the game. Washington will have MacKenzie Gore on the mound for his 11th start of the season and Kansas City will counter with Daniel Lynch. This will be Lynch’s season debut, as the 26-year-old had been in Triple-A for the first 2 months of 2023. Gore doesn’t need to be excellent in this start — just good enough — because the Washington offense should be able to score early and often against Lynch.
