Good morning, Pickswise Nation. The penultimate week of the 2022 NFL regular season is getting underway tonight, while there is also plenty of college football, NBA and NHL action. It’s another big day in the world of sports, so let’s get straight to it and make your next bet better with Wise n’ Shine!

About Last Night

Arkansas outlasts Kansas in triple-overtime
College football’s answer to a penalty shootout in soccer was how the Liberty Bowl had to be decided. Arkansas beat Kansas 55-53 in triple-overtime, scoring on its 2-point conversion in the third extra frame before stopping the Jayhawks’ attempt. Other results: Duke defeated UCF 30-13, Oregon edged North Carolina 28-27 and Texas Tech took care of Ole Miss 42-25.

Lakers lose (again)
The Los Angeles Lakers lost for the 5th time in 6 games by falling to the Miami Heat 112-98. Elsewhere on Wednesday’s schedule, 4 games were decided by a grand total of 3 points in regulation. Brooklyn battled past Atlanta 108-107, Sacramento upset Denver 127-126, New Orleans outlasted Minnesota 119-118 and Chicago took Milwaukee to overtime and finally prevailed 119-113.

Bruins cannot be beat
The Bruins added another win to their early-season haul, improving to 28-4-3 by besting the Devils 3-1. Boston has won 5 of its last 6 contests and has taken at least 1 point in 9 straight.

Kentucky takes a tumble
Two SEC teams lost to unranked opponents on the college hardwood. Kentucky (#19) tipped off its conference schedule with an 89-75 loss at Missouri, while #9 Arkansas dropped its SEC opener 60-57 at LSU. In an all-ranked SEC showdown, #8 Alabama went on the road and got the best of #21 Mississippi State 78-67.

Best Bet of the Day

NCAAF: Florida State Seminoles -9 (-110) over Oklahoma Sooners
5:30 pm ET

Oklahoma is saddled with a .500 record (6-6) heading into the Cheez-It Bowl. Former head coach Lincoln Riley led the Sooners to 11 wins last season, but new boss Brett Venables has been unable to sustain such momentum. Adding insult to injury, this is basically a road affair for Oklahoma in Orlando, Fla. The Seminoles will feel right at home for this bowl game and look poised to cap off a respectable year in style. Read our full Florida State vs Oklahoma predictions.
